Lowell Elementary Located on the near eastside of Madison near Olbrich Park and Lake Monona, Lowell Elementary is a neighborhood school serving nearly 400 students from 4K through fifth grade. Lowell Elementary enjoys a storied history, first opening its doors to students on January 3, 1916 as the New Irving School.

Our Lowell community is our greatest asset! Our students, staff, families, and partners work together to create a joyful learning environment. We work to support the whole child: teaching core subjects like math and literacy, essential arts like music and technology, while also teaching skills to support friendships. cooperation, and compassion. We are committed to fostering academic achievement, social-emotional learning, and a sense of belonging for every student we serve.

Lowell staff is dedicated to ensuring that all students, from 4K to 5th grade, receive a high quality and culturally relevant education. We work collaboratively as a staff and with our community to differentiate instruction, elevate experiences, and make sure that every student thrives.

Your children’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priority. We know that educating your students is a big, big job and we are ready, every day, to get to work.
